The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

What we collect and receive

Information from your browser

When you visit our site, we will store: the website from which you visited us from, the parts of our site you visit, the date and duration of your visit, your anonymized IP address, information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country you are located in, and web browser type) you used during your visit. We process this usage data locally using Matomo Analytics for statistical purposes, to improve our site and to recognize and stop any misuse.

Information from the contact form

When you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem, we will collect your name, email address, message, etc. We use this data solely in connection with answering the queries we receive.

Information from user accounts

If you create an account we require some specific information at the time of creation. This includes a working email, a password and a first and last name.

If you do not have an account, you may still be asked for your full name when creating entries within a room.

Why we collect this
  • We use your email and corresponding password to provide you with the basic functionality of your account. Your email will be used to communicate with you only when you initiate an action such as account creation, password reset or when contacting support. Under no circumstance will we send marketing emails if you do not opt in for this.
  • We use your first and last name on multiple pages and these may be displayed to other users of the website. This includes pages such as a Room (when both creating and accepting entries) and in Courses (After accepting an invite, the Course admins can see your name).
  • We require and process your personal information solely to provide you with the service and do not use your information for any other purpose. Furthermore you have the right to review, correct or remove your account information. To do so you can request it via our contact form.

Information from rooms

Within rooms we collect and process personal information when creating entries within lists. This information includes a full name, the applicable list, the time created and sometimes also a category and question.

This information is only used to provide you with the service this website provides.

Why we collect this
  • We collect this information to form a list of entries within certain lists. This means your given name, category and question may be displayed publicly in a list. You can, at any moment remove this information from the list yourself by clicking the X button next to it. Others who have access to the room can see this information.
  • If you specified a question, this question may be stored indefinitely and shown to other users when they create an entry. Your name or account will never be publicly linked to this question after your entry has been removed from the list.
  • After removing an entry or in the event of room closure, all entry data will be stored and aggregated. This means your name will be removed from this entry. Apart from that, entries will only ever be displayed as aggregated data.
  • To improve our service we use anonimized and aggregated data from courses, rooms and lists. This anonimized data may also be shared with third parties and creators of the room.

Cookies

We only use cookies to provide functionality. This includes at most a cookie to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery (csrftoken) and a session identifier when you are logged into a user account (sessionid). We do not use any tracking or marketing cookies.

How we secure your information

We take various measures to protect your personal information. We store and process all collected information only within the European Union. All transmission of data on TA-Help.me is encrypted using HTTPS. Furthermore we only store your password in hashed form. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information we will notify any affected user.

Your rights

You have the right to be informed of Personal Data processed by us, a right to rectification/correction, erasure and restriction of processing. You also have the right to ask from us a structured, common and machine-readable format of Personal Data you provided to us. To exercise any of the rights mentioned in this Privacy Policy and/or in the event of questions or comments relating to the use of Personal Data you may contact our support team using the contact form.

Retention of Data

We will retain your information as long as your account is active, as necessary to provide you with the services or as otherwise set forth in this Policy. We will also retain and use this information as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy and to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and protect our legal rights.

We also collect and maintain aggregated, anonymized or pseudonymized information which we may retain indefinitely to protect the safety and security of our Site, improve our Services or comply with legal obligations.
